Tish Durkin O'Sullivan, Founding Board Member

Tish Durkin O'Sullivan was in Iraq as a freelance journalist when her future husband, Sean O'Sullivan, founded JumpStart International. Based in Baghdad for most of 2003-2004, she published reports in such publications as Rolling Stone, the Atlantic Monthly, the National Journal, and the New York Observer.

Prior to that, Durkin O'Sullivan was a weekly political columnist for the National Journal, for which she covered Washington, D.C. before September 11 and wrote extensively from the Middle East after September 11.

From 1997 through 2000, she worked as a political writer for the New York Observer, most notably covering the mayoralty of Rudolph Giuliani and the Senate campaign of Hillary Rodham Clinton. During that period, she also appeared regularly as a political analyst on such television outlets as Good Morning America, Hardball with Chris Matthews, and numerous programs on CNN. Throughout her career, Durkin O'Sullivan has written on a wide variety of subjects for publications from the New York Times Magazine to USA Today to O: the Oprah Winfrey Magazine, with datelines from China to South Africa to Spain. O’Sullivan holds a degree in history from Yale College.
