A tragedy struck the worksite of the Iraqi National Boy Scout Camp yesterday when the JumpStart's worker Muhanid Ni'ma, 22, went for a swim in the Tigris River during his lunchbreak. He was sucked into a whirlpool and drowned in front of his friend's eyes. The diver from the Iraqi police searched for the body for 8 hours and found it in nearly the same place as he had gone in.
Our hearts go out to the family of this worker on this sad day. This is the first time JumpStart has had a worker die on a work site in our operations in Iraq.
