The renovations of the four existing buildings have begun at the Gaza Polytechnic Institute in Khan Younis. Following the completion of the new cement roof and support columns, JumpStart workers are now able to begin renovations inside the buildings.
Many of the interior walls of the buildings have been badly damaged by winter rains and looting by area residents. Repair and reconstruction work to a number of the destroyed walls has now begun.

The polytechnic institute is located on a former Israeli settlement close to the Mediterranean Sea in Southern Gaza. When completed, the school will serve as a two-year technical college to provide highly advanced technological training and equipping graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to pursue employment in technology related fields.
